Here's why we wanted to highlight this run specifically...

If you're time poor but want to push yourself close to home, this is one of the best training runs to do when training for fire-trail surface events or any of the Ultra-Trail Australia events.

Based 45-minutes out of Sydney's CBD but made to feel like you're 100 miles away from civilisation, the Belrose Hilly Dirt Road is based in the Garigal National Park. For thousands of years Aboriginal people have been custodians of the land and this connection and legacy is evident throughout the park. Garigal has extensive Aboriginal art sites, with over 100 Aboriginal sites recorded to date, including cave art, rock engravings, shelters, middens and grinding grooves.

However, this isn't a run for those looking for WOW factor views but one of the best training runs one can do training for any events on fire trail or any of the Ultra-Trail Australia events. With 6 varied hills to climb and just over 600m of elevation gained and lost you're in for a hard run. You can also run this with a group of friends of varying fitness levels as there are plenty of 'out and back' sections as well as the option to make your run shorter or longer.

Top tip: We finished up our run up at Mrs Jones The Baker in Frenchs Forest with some of the best bakery treats and coffee. The almond croissant was to die for. You'll find the pin on the map showing where to grab this post run reward.
